Agency sends free sweet to their team every time they get a new Twitter follower

Sweet Tweet

Brand agency Uniform had the interwebs twittering with this quirky experiment. Every time they got a new Twitter follower a ‘hacked’ cuckoo clock delivered a gum ball onto the desk of the employee who got the follower. The Sweet Tweet system used Arduino to monitor any new followers on Twitter so as a new person followed the account, the mechanism was activated, releasing a gumball at the same time as a train whistle noise. The project was born out of the agency's research platform ULAB. Genius.

Cadbury’s G+ product launch and million thanks

Cadbury’s made a bold move by using Google+ as their preferred platform to launch their new chocolate bar, Diary Milk Bubbly. It’s great to see forward-looking companies going a step further and trying different platforms to unveil a new product. And in another great move towards their social communities, Cadbury’s made a giant chocolate thumbs up, as a ‘thank you’ note to their first million Facebook fans. This is what it looked like.

Mini Fan the Flame

In order to promote the recently launched Mini Belgium and Luxemburg Facebook page, the car company created a competition to win a real Mini Countryman based on real-time Facebook likes.  The real car was placed on a slope hanging on a rope at the Brussels Motorshow event and for every Like on the facebook page the flame underneath the rope was remotely ignited. If your flame finally burnt the rope, you won the car. An original tactic to acquire new fans and hopefully they’ll keep the engagement on the page app as time goes on.

Couple up to buckle up

This great campaign from Scandinavian Airlines used two unique QR codes across every touch point (email, Facebook app, banners, print ads etc), as a 2 for 1 promotion especially targeting couples. They would each scan the QR code assigned to them, which would sync their half of a video based offer and reveal the discount code split across both screens.

Facebook launches Timeline apps

Facebook announced the launch of 60 new lifestyle apps that will become integrated with Timelines. The new apps are based on actions and activities beyond the ‘Like’, tapping into more personal interests so users can now share whatever they’re doing (shopping on eBay, travelling with TripAdvisor) with their friends. The platform is now open to all developers which mean the number of apps available beyond these initial 60 will increase pretty soon.
