Carat the force behind that Bodyform video

Carat was behind the video taking the social world by storm yesterday, says Rachael Lake.

We helped create a bit of a storm for our client Bodyform yesterday with a video hailed by social website Mashable as 'the best response ever to a Facebook rant - period'.

The video, which featured 'Bodyform CEO' Caroline Williams responding to a post left on the brand's Facebook page by Richard Neill, also trended on Twitter yesterday afternoon.

Carat co-ordinated the idea for the video response to Richard's post, which was a humorous rant questioning the advertising myths around periods.

The video was filmed at Regent's Park over the weekend and we managed social amplification as it spread across networks with universally positive comments.

In the film, Caroline talks through the history of Bodyform advertising and the maintenance of the 'period myth', apologising to Richard that 'some people simply can't handle the truth'.

The concept was brought to life by Rubber Republic who produced a brilliant script and filmed the response.

We wanted to build on the distinguished history of Bodyform's advertising through the film, and the client was delighted with the results, saying: 'Carat has created an original and uniquely personalised response, allowing Bodyform to quickly engage in consumer conversations in a meaningful way'.

The video was picked up by numerous magazines and newspaper websites including the New Statesman, Zest Magazine, Brand Republic's The Wall blog, Metro, the Mirror and the Huffington Post.
